Abstract:
The magnitude and spatial variation of the Coulomb potential within the boundaries of the atomic nucleus exhibits how a
macroscopic variable, such as charge radius of the nucleus, will depend on the Coulomb potential variation. Instead of using the long range Coulomb potential, a modified coulomb potential, that takes into account the small size of the positively charged protons and the
small size of the nucleus, has been used to calculate the nuclear charge radius especially in the region N=60 to N=90 since there is a
shape transition region in the nuclear chart in the neighbourhood of N=60, and also there is an abrupt change in nuclear shape around
N=90. Such transitions lead to change in nuclear charge radius, and this is what has been studied in this manuscript in the region N=60 to
N=90
